Men in Black: Escena final

Cualquiera que haya visto Men in Black alguna vez en su vida podrá reconocer fácilmente este lugar. Y es que como no acordarse de la mítica escena final de la primera parte de la saga, en la que los protagonistas el Agente J (Will Smith) y el Agente K (Tommy Lee Jones) luchan contra un terrorista galáctico que pretende acabar con la humanidad.  Sí, esa escena en la que una cucaracha gigante se traga al agente K y el agente J intenta distraer al bicho hasta que con ayuda de otro personaje terminan con él. Pues para los más fans de esta cómica saga, tenemos buenas noticias. Si te encuentras visitando o con planes de visitar Nueva York podrás hacerle una visita a este lugar, que se encuentra en rincón de un parque llamado Flushing Meadow, situado en el barrio de Queens. Allí se encuentran tanto las torres donde en la película se encuentra una nave espacial alienígena, como la unisfera que aplasta esta nave al ser destruida por los agentes K y J.

Anyone that has watched Men in Black sometime in their lives could easly recognize this place. And how could you not remember the place of the epic final scene of the first part of the saga, in which Agents K (Tommy Lee Jones) and J (Will Smith) fight against a galactic terrorist that’s trying to destroy humanity. Yes, the scene where a giant cockroach swallows agent K and agent J tries to distract it until another character destroys it. Well, for the fans of this funny saga, we have good news. If you’re visiting New York, or you’re planing to, you could go pay a visit to this place, that’s located in a park in the neighborhood of Queens, called Flushing Meadow. There you can find the Observatory Towers where the alien spaceship was supossed to be, and also de Unisphere in wich this alien spaceshio crashed after the agents destroy it.

Apartamento de Carrie Bradshaw: New York City

Bueno, ya sabemos que hemos hablado demasiado de localizaciones en Nueva York, pero cómo evitarlo cuando es la ciudad más vista en películas y series en toda la historia. Aquí tenemos otro lugar que os encantará a muchas de vosotras, en especial. El edificio en el que supuestamente se encontraba el maravilloso apartamento de Carrie Bradshaw, la protagonista de Sexo en Nueva York. Y es que si has visto alguna vez esta serie, quién no ha visto a Carrie bajando las escaleras de su portal corriendo para llamar a un taxi. Pues hoy traemos, para los amantes de esta serie y de Nueva York, la calle exacta donde se encuentra este encantador edificio, una callecita llamada Perry Street en el famoso barrio llamado Greenwich Village, en la isla de Manhattan. 

Well, we know that we’ve talked too much about locations in New York, but how could we not, when it’s been the city most seen in movies and television in all of it’s history. So, here we have another one, that many of you girls, will specially love. The building in which the wonderful apartment of Carrie Bradshaw, the main character of Sex and the city, was. And if you’ve seen the show, who hasn’t seen her run down the stairs of this building to call a cab? So, today we bring, for the lovers of this show and New York, the exact street were we can find this lovely building. A little street called Perry Street, located in the popular neighborhood of Greenwich Village, in the island of Manhattan.

La pastelería de la que hablo es por supuesto Magnolia Bakery, una pequeña y acogedora tiendita en la que tienen los postres más apetitosos que te puedas imaginar, situada en el número 401 de Bleecker Street, en el mismo barrio de Greenwich Village. Así que si queréis un buen postre, éste es sin duda el mejor sitio de la ciudad.

Un peliculón de tal calibre no podía faltar en nuestro blog, queridos cinéfilos. El director juega con el orden de los sucesos a su antojo, por lo que podemos decir que las escenas no corresponden con la cronología de los hechos en el tiempo. Sin ánimos de dar muchos detalles de la historia por si algún remolón todavía no se ha atrevido a verla, vayamos con los lugares de los hechos.

Such a movie had necessarily to have its place in our blog, darlings. The director plays with the events order, so we can assure the scenes don't tally with the real course of things happening in the story. Taking into account those lazier people who haven't seen the movie yet, we will not speak too much about it. Let's focus on our task. 

Para comenzar, recordemos el lugar donde transcurren la primera y última escena: el típicamente americano restaurante que hoy sabemos que se llamaba Howthorne Grill y se encontraba exactamente en el 13763 del Hawthorne Boulevard, 137th Street, Hawthorne, al sur de Los Ángeles. Desgraciadamente, el café ya no existe porque fue demolido.

Estas famosas escenas protagonizadas por Butch y Fabianne (Maria de Medeiros) tuvieron lugar en el River Glen Motel, el cual desapareció más tarde al igual que el Howthorne Grill. Se situaba en el 2934 Riverside Drive, Los Feliz Boulevard, al oeste del Golden State Freeway (autopista Golden State) y al sureste del Griffith Park. Hoy en día, dicho terreno pertenece a grandes empresas y no queda huella del anterior motel. 

These well-known scenes above protagonized by Buth and Fabianne (Maria de Medeiros) took place in the River Glen Motel, which was later desappeared like the Howthorne Grill. It was located at 2934 Riverside Drive, Los Feliz Boulevard, western Golden State Freeway and south-eastern Griffith Park. Nowadays, these piece of land belongs to big companies.

Muy a pesar de muchos, el emblemático Jack Rabbit Slim's Restaurant no existe, fue creado exclusivamente para el rodaje de la película. En realidad el sitio era una bolera demolida recientemente que se llamaba Grand Central Bowl. 

Sadly for many of you, the emblematic Jack Rabbit Slim's Restaurant doesn't actually exist, it was just created for the movie. In fact, the place was a recently demolished bowl called Grand Central Bowl.

Esperamos no haber herido la sensibilidad de los enamorados de Pulp Fiction al hacerles saber que de tres sitios expuestos en esta entrada, dos fueron derruidos, y uno es ficticio. En cualquier caso, estos son sólo tres de los numerosos lugares que gracias a Tarantino se han convertido en must-go para los espectadores.

Entre las más emblemáticas escenas de la historia del cine italiano se encuentra esta de la Dolce Vita, en la que Sylvia (Anita Ekberg) se baña en la Fontana di Trevi de Roma, seguida por Marcello (Marcello Mastroianni). Desde luego, la fuente resulta muy romántica para ir con tu pareja, aunque no es recomendable imitar a los personajes de La Dolce Vita si no quieres recibir un sablazo en tu cartera de una multa. Aquí te ofrecemos una alternativa mucho más barata: ponte de espaldas a la fuente y tira una moneda de pocos céntimos mientras pides un deseo... Buona fortuna!

Among the "most iconic" scenes from the history of Italian cinema is that of La Dolce Vita, in which Sylvia (Anita Ekberg) dives into la Fontana di Trevi (Trevi Fountain) in Rome, followed by Marcello (Marcello Mastroianni). We agree that the fountain is such a romantic place to visit with your partner, although we strongly recommend you not to imitate the characters of La Dolce Vita if you want to avoid getting in trouble. En la primera entrega de la saga Crepúsculo, Bella (Kristen Stewart) queda con su padre (Billy Burke) en esta pequeña cafetería. No es un simple decorado, es una cafetería llamada “Carver café” situada en la ciudad de Damascus, en el estado de Oregón (EEUU). Lleva abierta desde hace más de 50 años, pero gracias a la peli cobró una gran fama, y hoy en día muchos fans de la saga la visitan y se llevan una camiseta diseñada especialmente para ellos.
